The Census Bureau has released three estimates of Utah's population, based on different statistical methods of determining how many people it missed counting last year.

Under the post-survey method the bureau favors, the state's population was probably 1,757,000, not the 1,722,850 it originally counted. Other methods of estimating the undercount produced figures of 1,760,000 and 1,759,000.The Secretary of Commerce has until July 1 to approve a final figure for all of the states, based on the estimates he feels best represents the actual numbers in the population.
