Ralph W. Schmidt, age 70, passed away June 12, 1991 at the LDS Hospital.

He was born August 15, 1920 in Salt Lake City to Kurt W. and Else Heimann Schmidt. He married Reeda Meyer December 1, 1939 in Salt Lake City. Ralph was a self employed contractor, life member of the VFW, officer and commander of the VFW Post #409 from 1956 to 1959, member of the Sugerhouse VFW Post #3586, life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #259, and a member of the LDS Church.He is survived by his wife, Reeda M. Schmidt; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis R. (Gerry), Michael D. (Connie), and Ronald K. (Debbie); eight grandchildren, Ronald, Russell, Natalie, Sandra, Michael, Christine, Kathleen, and Richard; three great-grandchildren, Katarina, Erika, and Kaylee; stepmother, Caroline Adams Stohl Schmidt; brother and sister-in-law, Tim (Nona) Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gerda (Elmer) Davies; Norma (David) Dean; Esther (Charles) Cook; and Herb Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Florence Burton. He will long be remembered throughout the Salt Lake area for his fine craftmanship, honesty, and fairness. Ralph loved and enjoyed his fellowmen and showed it in many ways.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 1991, at the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. Viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the mortuary, and one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
