WATER POSES HAZARD TO KIDS

The melting snowpack in nearby mountains has raised the water levels in rivers and drainage ditches and also raises the dangers to unattended children, Salt Lake police say.

Every year, unattended children wander near such ditches and rivers and often fall in. Many parents don't realize that parks have lakes, run-off creeks and rivers running through them and that they present serious dangers to children, police say.The Salt Lake Police Department encourages parents to always be present with children when such water dangers exist.
