QUESTAR TELCOM WON'T BUCK STATE REGULATORS

Questar Telcom won't fight state utility regulators over whether it should come under the jurisdiction of the Public Service Commission.

The microwave-communications firm has agreed in a letter to the Division of Public Utilities to give up licenses to two circuits used exclusively for its primary customer, Intermountain Health Care Inc.The company hopes the action would avoid a drawn-out court fight over the company's role, the letter said.

But despite the concession, "QTI fully believes . . . these operations (come under) the Federal Communications Commission," not the PSC.

Questar Telcom is a subsidiary of Questar Corp.
