Songwriters from around the region will gather at the Olympus Hotel Convention Center, 161 W. 600 South, this week for their annual rite - and "write." The sixth annual Intermountain Songwriters Seminar is slated for Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22.

The seminar will begin at 4 p.m. Friday and go until 10 p.m. The next day things kick off at 8:30 a.m. and wind down at 5 p.m.Several professionals will be in town for the event. Al DeLory, a two-time Grammy winner, will be on the program. Don Howell from Hollywood and Nashville's Happy Anderson will also be on board.

Topics will include how to make a demo, how to market a song, lyric techniques and many others.

There will also be a chance to perform in front of national music publishers during several "song critique" sessions.
