WINNING STATE RODEO TITLE SHOCKS GRANTSVILLE GIRL

Grantsville senior Natalie Martin had never been a state champ in any event so she never expected to hear her name announced over the loudspeaker at the Heber Fairgrounds as a winner following Saturday night's Utah High School Rodeo Association finals.

"I just screamed," said Martin, the girls' all-around champion for 1991. "I had no idea. I thought Amy Allen ( Lehi's '90 champion and '91 runner-up) had it for sure," said Martin, who wasn't even aware she was the leader going into Saturday's short-go finals.
