Official results released Monday show Boris Yeltsin won by an overwhelming margin in last week's election for president of the Russian Federation, largest and most powerful of the Soviet republics.

Vasily Kazakov, chairman of the central election commission, said with results confirmed from 84 out of 88 constituencies, Yeltsin had 57.38 percent of the vote.
