A Palestinian headmistress convicted of cooperating with Iraqi forces by running a secondary school during the occupation was sentenced to die by public hanging.

The woman's two daughters reacted emotionally to the sentence Monday, one of them vowing to "kill any Kuwaiti I see," and the other screaming, "I want my mother back!"The defendant, Hamdi Assad, a 55-year-old widow, taught Arabic and later served as headmistress of the Tulilla School in Kuwait during the 7-month occupation that began with the Aug. 2 Iraqi invasion.
