An expansion of the Utah Valley Physicians Plaza is nearing completion and project managers say the building will be ready for occupancy by mid-August.
The five-story, 41,350 square-foot building is part of the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center complex. The plaza will contain 16 office suites, an expanded pharmacy and a second magnetic resonance imaging unit. The hospital building also has an MRI unit. The new medical office building will be occupied and owned by the doctors who developed and funded it, said Gary Powell, construction manager.
Doctors expected to move into the new building include an orthopedist, urologist, obstetrician/gynecologist and rumatologist. Powell said the doctors will move in over a period of months after the middle of August. Some are still designing their offices, he said.
Sam Walker, building manager, said 90 percent of the space in the new wing has been leased. Two office suites are still available, he said.
Architects have been able to design the new building to blend with the architecture of the hospital, Walker said.
Patient parking will be in a lot immediately south of the plaza. Powell said the doctors have bought the north end of Fox Field just east of the building for employee parking.
