10TH-INNING GRAND SLAM DROPS TRAPPERS TO 0-3

Idaho Falls' Johnny Walker belted a grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning Wednesday night to give the Braves an 11-9 victory at McDermott field and drop the Trappers' record to 0-3.

The grand slam came after the Trappers had rallied to force extra innings and gone ahead 9-7 in the top of the 10th.Salt Lake's Benny Castillo had forced extra innings with a two-run single in the top of the ninth and David Rolls gave Salt Lake a 9-7 lead with a two-run homer in the 10th. Rolls' shot followed a leadoff double by Salt Lake's Mike Aranzullo.

In the Braves' 10th, reliever Tad Powell loaded the bases on a walk and hit two batters before Walker's two-out slam.

Before coming to Derks field for Saturday night's home opener, against Idaho Falls, the Trappers will travel to Butte for games Thursday and Friday.
