The ninth annual Car, Truck and Cycle Show will be held Sunday, June 23, on the University of Utah campus to benefit a restricted mini-grant fund for individuals with mental retardation.
Those with mental retardation or their representatives may apply for a mini-grant of up to $500 if the applicant has less than $50 in his bank account.Grants have been awarded for a wide variety of needs, including a remote-control TV for an individual with cerebral palsy, special therapeutic shoes, a tombstone, warm clothes and a sleeping bag for a homeless man and help in obtaining special wheelchairs.
A fund-raising dance will be held Saturday, June 22, from 7-11 p.m. at the Veterans Administration Hospital multipurpose room in Building 8. The dance will feature '50s and '60s hits, including the limbo, stroll and twist.
