Brooks Brady, a 1991 graduate of East High School, is one of 60 high school honor students who will receive supercomputer training.
Brady has been selected to attend the U.S. Department of Energy High School Supercomputer Honors program June 17-28 at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's National Energy Research Supercomputer Center near San Francisco. He was one of 54 students selected from the United States.The supercomputer training session is one of seven science honors programs offered by the Department of Energy. The supercomputer center is one of the world's foremost computing facilities, serving the supercomputing needs of more than 4,000 researchers.
Brady, who was chosen as one of East High's graduation speakers, plans to study mathematics at the University of Utah in the fall.
