ESCAPED INMATE SOUGHT

Authorities are searching for a Utah State Prison inmate who walked away from a work crew near the Utah State FairPark Friday afternoon.

The inmate, identified as Jimmy Ray Thomas, 39, was last seen about 1:15 p.m. He had been in prison since Jan. 23, 1990, on a third-degree felony conviction of receiving stolen property. He was scheduled to be paroled Dec. 19, 1991, said corrections spokesman Dave Franchina.Franchina described the inmate as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 152 pounds.
