DEATH: LOREN W. FERRE

Loren Walden Ferre, age 71, passed away peacefully June 23,1991, at his home in Salt Lake City, following a four month battle with brain cancer.

Born September 24, 1919, in Gunnison, Utah, to Charles Edward and Lydia Kearns Ferre. He married Marie Robinson on March 11, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Veteran World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. Retired after 42 years in the Real Estate business. Active High Priest in the LDS Church, serving in many capacities over the years, including a mission to the Central States, and at his passing was serving as the Valley View Stake Executive Secretary. Enjoyed music and sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 36 years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He made his family his first concern; we all felt his great love and are grateful for his exemplary life.Survived by his wife, Marie, of Salt Lake City; a son and two daughters, Ann Marie (and Roy M.) Johnston, Marina Del Rey, California; L. Mark (and Connie) Ferre and Patrice (and John N.) Brown, both Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Jess A. (and Lorene) Ferre, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 27th, 12 noon, at the Valley View Fifth Ward, 2125 East Evergreen (3225 So). Friends may call Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Loren's name to Hospice of IHC who served the family so well in their time of need. They are located at 1245 Brickyard Road (84106). A special thanks to George and Connie.

Interment: Larkin Sunset Lawn.
