A 20-year-old Magna woman told police she was raped June 2 while walking in the area of California Avenue and 1700 West by a man who followed her on his bicycle.
Deputies said after following and talking to her, the man knocked the woman to the ground, pushed her head into the Jordan river and threatened to drown her if she did not take her clothes off. After the man raped the woman on the river bank, he refused to give back her clothes for several hours, according to a report.Once she persuaded him to return her clothes, the woman got dressed and jumped in the river to get away from the man.
Deputies are searching for a 5-foot-9-inch black male in his mid-20s, with a medium build and short black hair. The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and maroon shorts and was riding a grey 10-speed.
