BYU's women's sports program is ranked ninth best in the nation for the 1990-91 season, reported USA TODAY in its Monday, June 24, edition.
In a survey compiled by Steve Williams, college athletic programs are ranked by using the 10 leading NCAA Division I sports, based on participation. Teams are ranked from one to 20, with 20 points going to the national champion.BYU won 13 points in cross country, 81/2 in volleyball, 10 in swimming/diving, 8 in tennis and 13 in outdoor track for a total of 521/2 points.
UCLA captured the women's all-sports title for the fourth consecutive year, edging No. 2 Stanford 111 to 109.
