Utah Valley Community College and Orem City are combining efforts to establish the first International Festival at the college Sept. 13 and 14.
The festival is currently seeking groups who would be interested in participating in the festival by either hosting a culture booth, food booth, crafts booth or by providing entertainment during the two day festival."We think there is a wealth of culture in Utah Valley that goes untapped and often time unnoticed in our community," said Kerry D. Romesburg, president of UVCC.
"We hope that everyone in Utah Valley will get behind this international celebration and turn it into an event that people will want to come to and experience what different cultures around the world are like," said Blaine Willes, Orem City Mayor.
"We want to make this event a celebration of all the different cultures of the world. In order to do that, we need the help of everyone who has experience with another culture or country," Romesburg said.
