MAKE HOLIDAY DRIVING SAFE

The Utah Safety Council estimates that as many as five people may die in Utah traffic accidents during the Fourth of July holiday weekend that begins Thursday. The council urges motorists to follow a number of safe-driving tips to make the weekend accident free and to "arrive alive."

Whether you are driving cross-town or cross-country, the council urges drivers to fasten safety belts, encourage passengers to do the same and place children in approved car safety seats.Other suggestions: don't drink and drive, look out for drivers who are intoxicated and notify authorities of the vehicle's make, color, license number and direction of travel.
