The driver of a car that rolled and hit a power pole was booked into jail for investigation of automobile homicide after his 26-year-old passenger died of injuries sustained in the Sunday evening crash.

Salt Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Robinson said the 1990 Pontiac Sunbird was southbound on 300 West and went out of control where the road curves just north of 3900 South. The car rolled and hit a power pole, killing the passenger and causing minor injuries to the 22-year-old driver.The name of the passenger was still being withheld later Monday because family members had not yet been contacted.
