DEATH: AFTON ORME RHODES

Afton Orme Rhodes, 78, died June 29, 1991 at McKay-Dee Hospital of complications from Diabetes.

She was born September 25, 1912 in Honeyville to Herbert William and Arvilla Wight Orme.She married Hyrum Virgil Hall September 12, 1939; he died June 6, 1944. She married Dale Stewart Rhodes May 21, 1947 in Logan; solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple March 27, 1956.

Afton was reared in Honeyville and graduated from Box Elder High School and attended nurses training. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers holding several positions including president.

She was a member of the Tremonton 3rd Ward serving in the past in various ward and stake positions: Primary President, Blazer leader 14 years, member of Relief Society Presidency and a visiting teacher for many years.

Survived by her husband of Tremonton; five sons and one daughter and their spouses, Jerry and Lorraine Rhodes, Garland; Dan and Lois Rhodes, Ogden; Dennis and Pam Rhodes and Wade and Vicki Rhodes all Garland; Wayne and JaNette Rhodes and Kristine and David John, all of Tremonton; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothesr and two sisters, Herbert and Robert Orme, both Honeyville; Irene Smith, Ogden; and Lois Colton, Orem.

She was preceded in deaths by two brothers, Clark and Clinton Orme and one granddaughter, Jennifer Rhodes.

Funeral Tuesday, 12:00 noon, at Tremonton 3rd-8th Ward, with Bishop Raymond Hansen officiating. Friends call at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 1st East, Tremonton Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, at the mortuary from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. Burial in the Honeyville Cemetery.
