Four Hawthorne Elementary school students will compete in the international Future Problem-Solving Conference in St. Louis June 7-10.
Wendy Ethington, Sarah Pecora, Rebecca Roberts and Brooke Stevens will represent Utah at the Washington University conference. They are coached by teacher Sheri Sohm.The local youngsters will be among 800 students from the United States and Canada. The Hawthorne students outperformed 13 other teams in the Utah problem-solving bowl.
The Future Problem-Solving Program is a yearlong educational program in which capable students are challenged to solve problems in five different areas.
