DEATH: J. ARTHUR KNUDSEN

J. Arthur Knudsen, age 84, died June 5, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born July 24, 1906, in Seattle, Washington, son of Andrew and Emilie Gjimre Knudsen. Married Myrtle "Pat" Clancy Sept. 4, 1937, in Chicago. She died July 11, 1983. Graduate of University of Washington and a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He owned and operated the Knudsen Builders Supply Company. Founder and sponsor of the Knudsen Cup Ski Race, honoring high school skiiers. Former president of the Ambassador Club. President of the Old Timers Athletic Assoc. Past-president and longtime member of the U. of U. Crimson Club. Member of the Board of Directors of Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Former treasurer and trustee at First Methodist Church.Survived by: Son, Andrew A. Knudsen and wife, Barbara, of Tahoma, Calif.; daughter, Kristie Schimpf and husband, Robert, of Latham, New York; grandchildren, Jennifer, Peter and Stephanie Schimpf, and Shawn, Laura and Cheyenne.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m., at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations may be made to the Norway House, 7501 Vallejo St., San Francisco, Calif., 94123, or to Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral directors, Evans and Early Mortuary.
