Carl Pettersson Dea, 74, returned home to his Heavenly Father, June 4, 1991.

Born September 28, 1916 in Arthur, Utah to John William and Eugenie Pettersson Dea. Married Vera Ellen Sudbury on June 2, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died August 25, 1975. Married Yvonee S. Timmerman, June 24, 1976 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Attended Cyprus High School and left his senior year to join the C.C. Camp. Retired from Kennecott Copper, June 1, 1980 as an electrical supervisor after 44 1/2 years of service. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed playing softball and was short stop on several Utah State Championship Teams. Held many callings in the LDS Church including bishop, stake High Councilman and was a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. A very faithful, diligent person in all of his callings. Served a mission to the Baguio Philippines Mission. Loved dancing, music, composed and wrote several songs and poetry. He will be missed by all.Survived by his wife, sons, Carl B. (Lois), Brent (Patsy), David D. (Francine), Larry L. (Danielle), Wayne L. (Jan), Timothy P. (Kathy), Leon A. (Patti), stepchildren, Terry (Don) Bright, David (Lucinda) Timmerman, Douglas Timmerman, Daniel Timmerman, Frederick (Lynda) Timmerman and Melissa Vought; 42 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert B., sister, Eugenie Alverson; brother and sister-in-law, Elmer James, Dorothy Dea; preceded in death by parents, sister, Esther James and brother, John Dea; step-daughter, Vicki L. Naef; granddaughter, Emilee.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., Pleasant Green Ward Chapel, 8741 West 3000 South, Magna. Friends may call at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church, 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
