SHARE RECEPTION AT MCCURDY MUSEUM WILL HONOR NOTED PAPER DOLL ARTISTS

Paper dolls reign supreme at the McCurdy Doll Museum on Saturday, July 20, where there will be a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., honoring prominent paper doll artists who contributed to the Children's Friend (now The Friend), over a period of 50 years. Reservations are requested by calling the Museum, 377-9935, from 12-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

Works of artists Phyllis Park, Erla Young, Virginia Sargent, June Anne Olsen, Judy Capenor, Marjory Sorenson and others will be on exhibit, and guests will receive a free paper doll of Rosabelle, one of the Museum's famous dolls.Paper dolls of many kinds are on display at the Museum through the end of August. Exhibits include Little Fanny from 1810, the first known paper doll commercially printed; also Betsey McCall, the longest published paper doll (1951-81), dolls of celebrity and historic figures, and comic strip characters.
