SHARE AIR TEAMS STILL SEARCHING FOR DOWNED HAFB PILOT

Rescue teams were in the air Wednesday morning searching for the pilot of a Hill Air Force Base F-16D fighter that crashed at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday about 35 miles northeast of Ely, Nev.

The Flying Falcon was on a low-level night training mission and was assigned to the 34th Tactical Fighter Squadron, one of three squadrons assigned to the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Hill. The two-seat aircraft carried one pilot, whose condition was unknown as of Wednesday morning."A response team from the Utah Test and Training Range has been dispatched to the scene," said Sylvia LeMons-Liddle, public affairs spokeswoman for Hill. A board of officers will investigate the accident.
