A Delta 2 rocket blasted off with a burst of flame to boost a $65 million military "Navstar" satellite into orbit, the 11th in a globe-spanning network of navigation beacons.
The 126-foot Delta 2 took off at 10:32 p.m. EDT Wednesday from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, 24 hours late because of a storm in Virginia that disrupted reception of critical data from an island tracking station in the south Atlantic Ocean.
