Auditions have been scheduled for the following productions:
- HENRY V, the Pioneer Theatre Company production of Shakespeare's classic, on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 22 and 23, in Room 271 of Pioneer Memorial Theatre on the University of Utah campus.Members of Actors' Equity may audition from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 or 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 23. Non-Equity actors may audition from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 or 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 23. All auditioners must sign up for an audition time on the callboard outside of PMT Room 201.
There are roles for 16 males and two females. The roles of Henry V, Pistol and the King of France have already been cast.
PTC artistic director Charles Morey will direct. Rehearsals begin Oct. 7. Performances will be Oct. 30-Nov. 16.
- GUADELUPE, a new dramatic music written and produced by Jack Lambson, with music by Roger Lambson, on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. and the Vine Street Theatre, 186 E. Vine (east of State Street at 4920 South, Murray).
Auditioners should prepare 32 bars of a serious song. Also be prepared to do some dance movement and do cold readings from the script.
Needed are mature performers and some teenage singers/dancers, with a few roles for children and youths. (Children and youths may audition only if a parent is also auditioning for the show.).
"Guadelupe" is set in the Mormon Colonies of Chihuahua, Mexico, during the Mexican Revolution of 1912. It will open Oct. 18 for an open-ended run on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays. Some roles may be double cast.
