He has resigned as president of the National Museums of Scotland patrons' group in a dispute over the selection of architects for a new museum in Edinburgh.Charles, a frequent critic of modern architecture, had been upset that the competition for choosing a design for the $42 million museum had prevented him taking "as active a role as he would have wished in commenting upon the design concept for the building."
