Hundreds of technicians, contractors and military officers from 15 countries gathered this week in the Ogden Park Hotel to discuss the latest developments in F-16 jet fighter maintenance.
"We have briefings on various subjects," said Paul Gapinski, logistics management specialist at Hill Air Force Base. "If a country has a particular problem, then we set up what we call a side meeting where those countries' representatives will meet with someone from the Air Force who's an expert on whatever they're asking about."This was the fifth annual worldwide F-16 Technical Coordination Review. The meetings are held in Ogden, since Hill Air Force Base is the maintenance center for the Flying Falcons.
"There are 15 different nations that fly the F-16," Gapinski said. "Once a year we have representatives of all those countries come to Ogden, and we sponsor a worldwide management review."
Technical developments regarding the aircraft, which occurred during the year, are discussed. "Any kind of problem that they've experienced, we'll find an answer for them. Most cases, they've notified us in advance," he said.
The conference was held Monday through Friday.
