To the editor:
I am an organ transplant recipient. One year ago, an accident claimed a life. Because of the love and generosity of that person's family, I am alive and well today.I would like to express my deepest thanks to this wonderful, unselfish family for their priceless gift. Words are inadequate for this; I know you still live daily with the loss of your loved one. Your names are unknown to me, but I will always be grateful to you and others like you, who, in a time of such great personal grief, can extend life and health and hope to others.
Whoever you are, thank you for your unselfishness, and God bless you.
Please withhold my name. Transplant coordinators feel it is best in most cases that recipients and donor families not know each other.
