Alice Parker Johnson, 77, mother of Grace Forsythe, passed away peacefully August 28, 1991 at the Forsythe home.
She was born June 21, 1914 at Ashtabula, Ohio to Murray Stephen Parker and Vera Rawson Parker.Alice graduated from Kent State University, received Masters Degree from University of Pittsburgh. Married Carl Herbert Johnson.
She is survived by a daughter, Grace Forsythe, Salt Lake City; son, Jim Johnson, Gastonia, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kerstin and Erin Forsythe, Charlie Johnson.
Alice taught business in Ohio high schools for 25 years. She was a staunch member of the Lutheran Church, serving in choir and women's groups. She played violin in the Ashtabula Chamber Orchestra, was a member of the DAR and other service organizations. She gave many years of loving volunteer service in literacy programs, hospitals and crisis intervention centers. She was honored as "Citizen of the Year" in Astubula in 1989.
She was dearly loved by her family and will be sorely missed. She was tenderly cared for by her daughter and granddaughters.
Memorial service will be held August 30, 1991 at 12 noon at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2500 East 3900 South.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Neighborhood House Senior Center.
