A search for the "better than average" plus-size model is now being conducted in the Salt Lake Valley. All women size 14 and over are invited to participate. The search will culminate with a fashion show Oct. 3. The winner will model fashions, have a professional photography session and receive a beauty makeover as well as a designer wardrobe.
Larger women once relegated to the "back of the bus" in department stores are now being recognized as fashion-conscious consumers. Nearly half of all women in the United States wear plus sizes. More and more manufacturers are recognizing that fact. In 1978, there were only 100 manufacturers of plus-size women's clothes. Today there are 1,000.Entry deadline is Sept. 11. For information and application forms, call 272-8700 or write to the Greater Salt Lake Woman, 1955 E. 4800 South.
