A 24-year-old Weston, Idaho, woman has pleaded guilty to automobile homicide in the death of her infant son earlier this month.
Marvina F. Standingrock waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday and entered the plea before 1st District Judge Gordon Low, who set sentencing for Sept. 23.She was charged concerning a July 8 accident in which her car struck a bridge on the Cub River in Richmond, two miles west of the Utah-Idaho border.
The car rolled at least three times, instantly killing Standingrock's 8-month-old son, Porfirio Zarco.
Standingrock and three other passengers were injured and hospitalized for several days.
The Utah Highway Patrol said Standingrock was intoxicated when the accident occurred.
Automobile homicide is a second-degree felony, punishable by a prison term of from one-to-15 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
