Skyline High School biology teacher Phil Talbot has returned to the classroom after spending the summer involved in a research project at the University of Utah.
Working through a fellowship from the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, he completed one phase of a project to extract venom from a snail that feeds on marine worms.Researchers believe it may be possible to find a "friendly receptor" in the snail venom that would lead to a potential cure for Alzheimer's disease, which could in turn could improve the quality of life for millions of people.
