Citing health concerns, the Utah Department of Health wants the public to limit how many fish, ducks and American coots they eat that are taken from Ashley Creek and tributaries from its junction with Green River upstream to the Ashley Valley Sewer Management Board lagoons, the Winter Storage Pond and Stewart Lake Waterfowl Management Area.

Health officials are warning people to eat no more than 6 ounces of these fowl and fish per week per adult. The Health Department also advises the public not to consume any livers of water fowl taken from these sites.The birds and fish may contain toxins that affect children under 15. Health officials are particularly concerned about pregnant or nursing women.
