Emma Geneva Norris Sharp, age 98, the first born and last surviving child of William Benjamin Norris and Ida Adella Boulter, was born October 8, 1892 in Draper, Utah Territory.
She passed away September 8, 1991, having lived five of the last six years in East Midvale with her daughter and son-in-law, Marvella and LaMar Newbold.Geneva married twice; Leonard William Sharp, June 26, 1913, father of her eight children, and William Parley Sharp. Both preceded her in death. Her children were all born in East Midvale, where the family lived until Leonard died, June 27, 1939. A year later she remarried and moved to the Lewisville-Rigby, Idaho area, where she lived the next 45 years.
Always an active member in the LDS Church, she especially remembered, enjoyed and appreciated the 23 1/2 years she served as an officiator in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Three of her sons, Leonard Norris, Willis Charles and Don Ross, preceded her in death. She is survived by more than 150 descendants, including daughters, Marvella G. (Mrs. LaMar Newbold); Donna Ruth (Mrs. Dean Tucker); sons, Dean William and wife, Carol; Harold Kenneth, Ralph LaVar and wife, Norma; daughters-in-law, Dorothy Sharp and Ann Sharp; also surviving are stepsons, Joseph and wife, Jessie; Merrill and wife, Winnie; Alvin and wife, Fern; Stephen and wife, Hazel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, 1991, at 12 noon in the East Midvale 1st LDS Ward Chapel 240 East 7570 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Wednesday 7-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
