Michael Stich's recent Wimbledon title hasn't made him a hot commodity on the celebrity Richter scale in New York. Although he doesn't have much time to stroll the streets of Manhattan, his infrequent experiences about the town have been uneventful.
"In America, it is good, especially here." Stich said. "Nobody is too much interested. You can walk out on the streets and just go shopping. I mean, you are just one of 10 million persons here."The third-seeded Stich isn't complaining about the lack of attention. He relishes his privacy.
"This is the way I like it," Stich revealed. "I just want to concentrate on the tennis and want to play good and try to win matches. You can't do that if you can't relax a bit and just get away from the tennis on the free days."
