Cuban President Fidel Castro has agreed to help the Colombian government keep reputed drug lord Pablo Escobar in jail, Newsweek magazine said.

Sources quoted by the magazine in its current issue published Monday say Cuba will turn over evidence from the 1989 trial of Cuban Interior Ministry officials on cocaine-trafficking charges.Newsweek also quoted the sources as saying some prisoners may be asked to testify against Escobar, who reportedly coordinated the shipment of tons of cocaine through Cuba.
