Kirt Carpenter, projects manager of the Bureau of Reclamation's Utah projects office, has announced his retirement.
Carpenter worked 32 years for the federal government. He headed the bureau's projects office in Provo for 12 years where he was heavily involved with the Central Utah Project.The Central Utah Water Conservancy District has announced plans to hire Carpenter as a special assistant to work on CUP-related issues.
Prior to serving as projects manager, Carpenter was regional youth program coordinator in Salt Lake City. He has also served as director of the Job Corps' Collbran, Colo., and Weber Basin, Utah, civilian conservation centers. He began his career with the bureau working on the Weber Basin Project in northern Utah.
William R. White, project construction engineer of the Bonneville Construction Office, will serve as acting projects manager for the Utah office. He will also continue to manage the Bonneville office.
