Home canners with questions about food safety can find the answers in a workshop sponsored by the USU Cooperative Extension Service. JoAnn Mortensen, home economist, will demonstrate safe home canning of tomatoes, salsa and discuss freezing corn and peppers as well as apple and peach pie fillings.
The free demonstration will be Friday, Sept. 6, from 2:30 to 5:30 at the State Fairgrounds, Home Arts Building, 155 N. 1000 West.An additional course titled "Eating More Fruits and Vegetables" will be taught in the same location on Friday, Sept. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m.
