A Taylorsville man and a visiting Chinese national were killed in separate auto accidents Monday afternoon.

Dead are:Martin M. Jones, 19

The Chang Xim Xu, 77

Jones was ejected while riding in a pickup truck that struck another vehicle on 3900 South at about 1200 West late Monday afternoon. The driver of the pickup, Clint Seaman, 18, Taylorsville, remained in fair condition Tuesday after being airlifted to the University Hospital following the accident.

Seaman's truck, which was traveling east on 3900 South, rolled twice after colliding with a second pickup that was changing lanes, said Salt Lake County Sgt. Scott Robinson. None of the three passengers in the second pickup was injured, and police would not identify thedriver of the truck.

The 3:30 p.m. accident is still under investigation. Neither Jones nor Seaman were wearing seat belts, and both were ejected from the truck during the rollover.

The Chang Xim Xu, who was in Salt Lake City visiting relatives, was killed while crossing 700 East at about 700 South at approximately 4:40 p.m. Monday.

He was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Jerry L. Larsen, 17, West Jordan, said Salt Lake Lt. Scott Folsom. The Chang Xim Xu was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
