Thousands of Utahns, with anything but work on their minds, crowd campgrounds and amusement parks for the last big fling of the summer. Families weathered heat and humidity in longer-than-usual lines Monday at Lagoon Amusement Park, left, and others labored to find a spot to park trailers in the shade at Cherry Hill in Davis County, below. Campgrounds at Rockport State Park and Big Cottonwood Canyon east of Salt Lake City were full Labor Day weekend. The same was true of campgrounds in south, central and northern Utah, as a sea of RVs, tents and vans dotted forests and lakesides. Tuesday it was back to work - and to school - for fun-loving Utahns who reluctantly watched summer come to an end.
