The results are in for the first week of the Deseret News Grid Picks game. And the winner is, Matt McCann of Sandy. Matt picked all 12 games correctly but had to win in the tie-breaker. He predicted Utah 21, Utah State 7. Four other entries also predicted all 12 games correctly - Ryan Black, Bountiful; Brook Sutheraud, Salt Lake City; Scott Trost, Salt Lake City and Paul Philbrick, Murray.

Twenty entries came in with 11 correct. The six who gained runners-up status via the tie-breaker were Gary Robinson, Murray; April Wood, Farmington; Larry Reid, Salt Lake City; Larry Baxter, Centerville; Bryce Wilcox, Kaysville and Dan Hale, Salt Lake City.The top winner, Matt McCann, wins $100, a Deseret News T-shirt and a $10 pizza value from Domino's. The other 10 winners will receive the T-shirt and the $10 Domino's pizza value. Prizes will be sent in the mail. A total of 1,073 entries were received.

These winners now become eligible for the grand prize, an all-expense-paid trip for two to the Holiday Bowl.

In the celebrity game, Deseret News sports writers Lee Benson and Doug Robinson squared off against KSL 1160 sports broadcasters Chris Tunis and Jim Braden. The Deseret News team predicted eight correct to seven for KSL.
