A 3-year-old Mapleton girl was killed Saturday in Duchesne when a four-wheeler she was riding fell on top of her.

Killed was Amber Foy.According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Stan Bench, the accident occurred at 4:30 p.m. Saturday on private property a half-mile north of Duchesne.

Amber was one of three passengers on a four-wheeler being operated by her father, Clay Foy, 32, Mapleton.

"The kids were being given rides around a grassy field. The driver was bringing the front wheels up a steep embankment when the weight displacement threw the four-wheeler over backward," Bench explained.

Sitting in front of her father, the child sustained the impact of the rollbar and headlight and suffered severe head injuries. She also sustained the majority of the motorcycle's weight in the fall, he said.

She was transported by ambulance to the Duchesne County Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

No one else was injured, Bench said.
