An electric generator installed recently at the Central Valley Water Reclamation Facility is expected to reduce smoke stack emissions by 25 percent.

The new natural gas-fired unit has a 1135-kilowatt rating and will produce about 38 percent of the power used at the facility. The remaining power will be supplied by four other generators and Utah Power.
