Wizard Language Institute, 460 N. University Ave., is one of more than 75 franchised schools in South America and Europe. Its establishment in Provo marks the first franchise to open in the United States.

Wizard presently offers English as a second language and will soon offer Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian and Japanese.Theresa Eastman, the owner of the school, is a native of Brazil who has lived in the United States for 20 years and has worked as a freelance translator. David Eastman, her husband and director of the school, has advanced degrees in languages and linguistics and has more than 20 years experience in language teaching and cross-cultural affairs.
