A driver of a semitrailer truck is in critical but stable condition at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center following an accident in Provo Canyon Tuesday afternoon.

The unidentified driver was injured when his truck, which was loaded with pipe, rolled into the Provo River near the Claim Jumper Restaurant at 2:37 p.m.The driver was pinned in the truck's cab, according to a Utah Highway Patrol dispatcher.

He suffered a cervical fracture, according to a nursing supervisor at the hospital.
