Retiring Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall has been hospitalized after complaining of light-headedness, a spokesman for the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., said Thursday.

"He's in good spirits and going through a variety of diagnostic tests," said Lt. Cmdr. Bill Clyde. "His life signs are all normal, and he's not in any life-threatening situation."Marshall, 83, was last hospitalized in August 1990 after suffering a fall in Chicago.
