Hugh M. Robbins died peacefully at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Bob and Fran Martin, in Denver, Colorado on September 3, 1991 after a lingering illness.
He was born May 26, 1915 in Humphrey, Idaho to Otto Franklin Robbins and Ada Belle Wakefield Robbins. He married Virgina Catherine Lackey on September 12, 1934 and fathered three daughters. He and his family moved to Salt Lake City in 1943 where he was a railroad engineer for 44 years for the Union Pacific Railroad. He retired in June of 1980.He married Charlotte E. Hughes in April of 1977. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the El Kalah Masonic Temple, Scottish Rite Freemasonry, El Kalah Mounted Patrol and Union Pacific Old Timers Club.
He is a survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bob and Fran Martin, Denver Colorado; step-daughter and son-in-law, Daisy and John Gale, Bountiful; two sons-in-law, Richard K. Roberts, Bountiful; and Stanley Mynatt, Fontana, California; four sisters, Jessie Stevens, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Alice Hocking, Boise, Idaho; Clara Casey, Anaconda, Montana; Mary Poole, Phoenix, Arizona; one step-sister, Frances Jean Thompson, Bountiful; eight grandchildren, Julie Ellis, Michelle, Joseph and David Martin, Drew, Mike and Nancy Roberts, Shane Robbins; seven stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his parents, wife, and daughters Joanna Roberts and Ginny Kaye Mynatt.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Roy, Utah, 5560 South 2300 West Friends may call on Thursday, September 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers-Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. The family request that instead of flowers, memorials be given to Summit of Peace Lutheran, P.O. Box 38, Eastlake Co. 80614-0038 or Shriners Cripple Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
