Bobby Don Brakey, age 51, died September 5, 1991 after a long battle with heart disease.
Born April 30, 1940 to Walter R. and Vira May Brakey in Delta, Utah. Married Pennie Albertson November 19, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Davis High School. Worked at Hill Air Force Base for 22 years and the Federal DCAS group at Litton for two years when he took a medical retirement. Served in may positions in the church; Sunday School superintendent, Young Mens president, Elders Quorum president; Kearns Region Athletic director and executive secretary to the bishop. He loved the youth of the church. All who knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed.Survived by wife, Pennie; six children, Becky, Ray, Sarah, Nichole, all of Kearns; Mrs. Robert (Bobbie) Garcia, Kearns; Mrs. Denny (Shannon) Stelly, Murray; three granddaughters, Kelli Anne and Heather Garcia; Ashly Ann Stelly; five brothers, W. D. Whiting, West Jordan; John R. Brakey, Kearns; G. Glen Brakey, New Mexico; Roy Brakey, Oklahoma; Barry J. Brakey, Vernal; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents and three brothers, Lloyd, Jerry and Patrick.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at the Kearns 2nd Ward, 4360 West 5415 South. Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Golden Rule Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church from 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
